GNI Successfully Holds First Public Forum

The Global Network Initiative successfully held its first Public Forum in Paris on December 4. The well-attended event was held in conjunction with the International Seminar on Business and Human Rights in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Mary Robinson, the former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and founder of Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative, gave opening remarks.

Colin Maclay of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University facilitated the panel, which included Leslie Harris (Center for Democracy & Technology), Bob Boorstin (Google), Rob Mahoney (Committee to Protect Journalists), Ebele Okobi-Harris (Yahoo!), Bennett Freeman (Calvert), Chuck Cosson (Microsoft), and Mike Posner (Human Rights First).
